MM400 in Canada

Perhaps you could indicate when and where MM400 for the Amiga will be
available in North America and specifically in Canada.  I’ve tried contacting
CEI in the US but they don’t have MM400 – in fact the salesperson didn’t know
that there was a MM400.  Deadlines for my presentations are approaching and it
would be nice to use the latest and greatest!

BTW – I am an anesthetist and my presentations have been well received using
Scala.  All the Powerpoint users ask me what I used!

I am happy to see that your presentations done with Scala MM have been,
and continue to be, successful and well received.

I regret to inform you that there are no plans to release MM400 in the
North American market at this time.  MM400 is currently in European
release and is only available in PAL.  Negotiations with Escom/Amiga
Technologies continue, on bundling one of our products with certain Amiga
models.  We look forward to a positive and mutually beneficial outcome in
    the negotiations.

FYI: For those European customers interested in the MM400 specifications,
visit our European Website at http://scala-gw.anima.no.

TECHNICAL question for a change (!)-

Are there really any code differences between PAL and NTSC packages?
Hacks to open PAL screens as NTSC go way back, and using the
display database to direct the output works well with packages
that support it. I would think it would be more efficient to write
common core code for the two versions and let the user choose
the display mode (efficient from a programmer/developer time
    perspective).

You are correct, it would be more efficient.  However, parts of our
products is based on older and less flexible code.  Also, bare in mind
that we have our own custom GUI (HumanTouch).  Thus the need to make two
    different versions (NTSC and PAL).
